Cristiano Lupatelli (born 21 June 1978 in Perugia) is an Italian football goalkeeper who is currently playing at Genoa. He is known for his goatee and sideburns with his bald head.
Lupatelli won a scudetto while playing for A.S. Roma in 2000/2001. A Roma youth product, Lupatelli was farmed to Chievo in 2001-02 to 2002-03 season, after just played 12 Serie A games for the capital club. He was sold for 3 billion Italian lire in co-ownership deal.[1] In 2003-04 season, he returned to Roma for €0.9million,[2] as the backup of Ivan Pelizzoli.
In summer 2004, he joined Fiorentina on free transfer.[3]
Lupatelli was the regular of Fiorentina in 2004-05 season, but after the arrival of Sébastien Frey (since 2005), Bogdan Lobonţ (2006–07) and Vlada Avramov (since 2007), he became the third choice, and loaned to Parma for 2005-06 season for part of Frey's deal.
During on loan at Parma F.C., he was exchanged with Matteo Guardalben in mid-season.
In September 2008, he joined Cagliari on free transfer,[4] played as backup of Federico Marchetti.
He was set to became a free agent on 1 July 2010, and was not call-up to 2010-11 pre-season camp.[5] During the 2010-2011 Summer Window Transfers, he joined Bologna on a free transfer, as Emiliano Viviano's backup.
On 8 July 2011, he joined Genoa on a free transfer, after being released from Bologna.
